"Such Potential"

date: March 3, 2009

I want to like this series. I think it has so much potential. Your backstory is intriguing, your art (aside from a few foreshortening improvements) is amazing, some of the best seen on NG in a while. Even your voice actors are top notch. I'm not sure how you're progressing the story as it stands, but I'm looking forward to seeing future installments.

But your audio quality... oh gawd... please... PLEASE... PLEEEEASE... fix your audio quality. Your sounds need equalized when multiple dialogues are going on. All streams BLAST into your ears, and at times aren't even discernable. It's trashing what could be some of the best work to hit NG. And because of the quality, what would be a 9 or 10 is now 6-7 at best.

Improve the audio (only the quality, not the voice acting, it's top notch) and NG is yours for the taking. And if that's not an option for reasons unknown, at least put in sub-titles to compensate until you can.

Other than that, man.. phenomenal work on the gorgeous women, great lip syncing in spots (when the "bro" spat when he spoke for example), and great voice actors.

Cause & Effect (Demo)

"Very Great Thus Far"

date: March 3, 2009

This is shaping up very nicely man. You've done awesome with the artwork to give it a gritty noir feel. Reminds me a bit of ol' NES game Deja Vu, but with some stunning eye candy.

I think most quirks have been mentioned, but I'll give it a whirl. Sometimes the custom cursors/inventory items don't load. I restarted the game, and everything worked fine the second go.

The pint isn't obtainable, unless that's the end of the demo, in which case disregard.

The only improvements I can possibly think of would maybe be diversify the dialogue a bit. For instance don't have them repeat conversations (unless perhaps they're still clue oriented, like the barkeep mentioning his notepad).

For instance when asking about the battery, she mentions her toys. A second inquiry might go, "Sorry sugar. Like I said, I don't have any on me. And even if I did, I don't think you need D batteries. *winks*" A third inquiry might result in: *blush* You're to embaressed to make any more inquiries. She clearly doesn't have any.

Just something to emerse yourself in this amazing work. Nothing kills a sense of emersion than having repeated dialogue if it can be avoided. But other than those quirks... just.. wow... keep up the outstanding work.

"WTF"

date: February 27, 2009

I remember watching this in the portal clear back in December, voting 5, and waiting expectantly for it to hit the front page where all the masses could enjoy it. And it never happened...

UNTIL NOW BITCHES.

Long over due-man. Grats, bout time it made it there. :) Hopefully 2 and 3 will get some recognition now to (if they haven't already).

I honestly was completely and fully expecting the music to cut out right as "Generic Anime Kid" was about to get the game and the Gamestop clerk saying, "Do you have a pre-order?" much to the kids torment.

It's a shame GS sucks so much these days. :\

Anyways... great job and concept!

"Nice Synching"

date: February 17, 2008

Wow... very well done on synching the amusing dubs.
While the voices weren't at all what I was expecting the whole thing altogether was very amusing... Great job.. :)

The voices aren't allowed to fit the characters too well... such is traditionnnnnn!

"False Facts"

submission: Blackened Earth
date: February 17, 2008

I can understand what you're trying to do here. Overall it's a positive message of finding alternative energy sources, but your portrayal of the US. vs Europe and the facts provided is somewhat one-sided.

For starters you provided seperate information for each country. Germany this much. France this much. BUT YOU FAILED to mention that the US is larger than those countries mentioned COMBINED. It's hardly a fair comparison.

You also didn't comment on the several different US organizations already tryin' to promote and implement these changes. Perhaps you should provide links to those sources instead of just saying, "PLZ hALP t3h 3aRTHS, K?"

But other than that I DO WHOLY appreciate the effort you took in making this and trying to promote the message... so...

February 17, 2008

Author's Response:

For the competition that I entered this in before, I needed to compare two communities, and Europe and the US, were the one's I chose. If you read the conclusion, I simply state that the European Union (various countries) are each doing good things, and that we can learn from them, not that we are not doing anything to prevent pollution. If you want the links, I'll put them in at the end...

The Accident Collab

"Decent Concept... Poorly Executed"

date: February 17, 2008

The premise of this could have been hilarious had you not supplemented it with very crudely drawn animations and sub-par voice acting. Fortunately it wasn't wholly unwatchable so I'll warrant it a 4.

Jeffrey Faden's BUS

"Sadly, not just the buses"

date: May 17, 2006

Very well put, I could feel my blood boiling just thinking about it. Unfortunately all those scenarios don't just apply to crowded buses, it's just one of many unholy cesspools for them to all congregate in one place. And when you have that many soul stealing, life draining, sanity crushing conducers all in one place... it gets electric. As in... 50,000 volts to your balls. Good flash man.
